Mount Washmore

Welcome to Mount Washmore – A national monument located next to my laundry room.

Founded in 2007, Mt. Washmore was forged by an ever growing family with the uncanny ability to spill anything, fall everywhere, and change clothes for the most unnecessary reasons imaginable. The peak has been conquered approximately three times a year since its origination, only in order to commemorate the births of the three children who help to create and maintain its height and glory.

Mt Washmore has been known to erupt and cause mass destruction. ‘Commandos’ have been known to frequent the site, so be wary of its indigenous people. It’s most notable eruption is dated January 5th, 2015. This is the day that it’s caretaker began leaving it unattended for eight to ten hours a day, five days a week.

One of my favorite things about having a second income is having the ability to say “Screw this” when it comes to the laundry. I don’t do it too often, but there is no better feeling than taking a giant garbage bag, filling it with every t-shirt and sock littering the floor, and dropping it off for service around the corner at the laundromat. This is my ‘me time.’ Sure, I love a good mani-pedi, a movie, a girls night, date night, a tan or an eyebrow wax… but when it comes down to it and I have a few extra bucks to spoil myself with… nothing that says ‘Girl, you deserve it’ louder than a bag full of freshly laundered clothing that I DIDN’T WASH!
